Some obesity wisdom
I just found this quote and I had to share it as it’s the wisest thing I’ve heard in a while:
“For the record, I’ve learned that obesity has very little to do with “will power”, and very much to do with addiction. For example, as someone who has never smoked, and therefore has never been addicted to nicotine, it doesn’t take will power for me to stay away from cigarettes. When a thin person who is not addicted to simple carbohydrates, judges an obese person to be lacking in will power, they are flat wrong. It just so happens that some people’s physiology predisposes them to becoming addicted to simple carbohydrates. Have you ever wondered why not all people who drink alcohol become addicted to alcohol. I believe that it has more to do with physiology than will power in both cases. ”
This is from http://fatmancycling.com/
I know he’s right beacuse I was addicted to cigarettes for 14 years then I quit and become addicted to simple carbs instead. It’s exactly the same feeling. I refuse to go back to cigs though cause it’s too expensive.

Mother’s Day
Mother’s day started out with a 3am trip to the kitchen to get Kasey a drink, followed by an extra early wakeup, followed by cleaning up cat spew. Then the video player broke. But after reading the mother’s day post at the postsecret site I am just glad to be me and not those people. There is so much unhappiness out there. Plus I got this very cool present:

I love it how the fingers are a different colour to the palm print.

One of those days
Yesterday was just one of those days where annoying events were popping up everywhere…
I have been doing a class on using Microsoft Excel for about 3 months now. I still get questions from the other students like how do I open the program again? As well as how do you add the two numbers again? So the point is we’re not exactly a class of geniuses.
Because I have lots of experience with computers I’m not having that much trouble but still it’s me he chooses to get annoyed at…
Yesterday I had just finished typing out some horrible excel formula at an assessment which I was rather proud of myself for doing when the teacher asked me to save it as a web page and then open it in IE. So I saved it and then went to Internet Explorer to open it and couldn’t find the stupid file. So he’s like “for heavens sake blah blah” and walked off in a huff. It was the last assessment, finished the class, (5 weeks early I might add) and that’s all I get. *sigh*
Then on the way home Kasey and I got off the train along with a few hundred other people when Kasey chooses to point to a lady whos walking RIGHT next to us and shout “she’s fat mum!” It was one of those “I wish the ground would open up” moments lol.
Today I’m just catching up with emails while Kasey is at kinder. I wish I could be playing the sims though!

Movies
We went to see Ice Age 2 during the week. Kasey did a lot better then the last time we went, we actually stayed till the end of the movie. She didn’t watch all of it but she did a good job with not running amuck too much. Not that it would have mattered if she did since we were the only people in the place so the movie was playing just for the two of us
I have to make plans for her birthday and I have no idea what to do.

Yay!
We’re having a happy day today because our friend Ronald is back from China. He is only back for a little while but we’re very happy to see him again. Kasey is with them right now at the park. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to write in here. I hope more kids move to this area because absolutely nothing compares to friends in terms of making Kasey happy.
We did end up going to the circus last week, it was good. I felt a bit sorry for them though during the first hour they had no sound which meant all these dancers and acrobats had to come out and do their stuff in eery silence. I don’t know if you can imagine what that was like lol. Kasey enjoyed the animals the most of course. They had cows, camels, birds and horses and they did end up fixing their sound system for the last hour of the show.
